Thread: So you hate telkom? Join our activist group.

Default So you hate telkom? Join our activist group.

    Hi there All,

Some of you may have seen my posts on a couple of other forums, and one of your members suggested I post here.

In essence, we are starting up a national activist organisation against telkom. Here is the most I put on another forum:

    Hi there all.

I am currently setting up an organised anti-telkom activist group. The idea of the active activist group is through non-violent means (protests, websites, marches, whateva), bring the media`s and publics attention to telkom stranglehold on this country.

I think an organised well structured group could achieve this goal.

So if you want to actually do something about it. Please email me at antitrustdude@antitrust.co.za

I am urgently looking for the following volunteers:

    1) Website Admins (Pref. with CMS or Wiki Experience)
    2) Journalists
    3) Anyone who would like to become a part of this. If you can spare information, time, skills or money. We would greatly appreatiate it.

Look forward to hearing from you

A look at the discussion we are having on the subject can be found here: http://www.mybroadband.co.za/vb/show...6&page=1&pp=15

You can count me in Pan, I'll drop you an email. I must be honest, I don't like the SMS charging scheme as I'm always worried that I'm going to become part of an irritating advertising scheme. I'd love to donate money however, but I'd much rather do it through a bank transfer.

In terms of the donations collected, what are your plans with it. My personal view is to physically do something about an issue as big as this (as you mentioned: protesting, marches, etc.). I feel we can rant as much as we like on forums but that's not going to help at all.

Promise you mass public demonstrations are on the book. Currently we are setting up things. I have got a couple of emails from coperates who want to remain anonymous who would like to donate monies.

So hopefully I will have the bare bones of the site up by monday. Once again, an appeal to anyone out there with Wiki Experience. We have someone working on a personalised skin.

Once the site is up, we will beging a public forum as to the next group of steps.

    Added EFT system

You can donate as many time as you want, and get all your mates donating. No weapons. Were smarter than telkom so we dont need to use violence.

But as i said, email me please. Its easier for me to track who can do what

I don’t want to come across as overly cynical (and believe me, I also want things to change),
but what exactly do you plan to do?

I mean, it’s good and all to stride down the street creating a noisy commotion – however, I can’t imagine that it would accomplish anything. What's more, who’s to say you’re not just going to stick the cash (donations) in your own pocket and call it a day? Sorry, I’m not buying it – feel free to correct me if you believe I'm wrong though. Besides, how would you lead/organize an 'Activist Group' if you can’t even spell and use grammar properly?
