Reviewers: TitanKing, Maximus, 1Rony, IonFlux
The most difficult thing for a mouse reviewer is to decide whether to refer to multiple (or the plural form) of these critters as mouse, mice or mouses. We decided to keep it simple and to stick by using the form mouse and mice... mouses just sounds wrong...
In this review we decided to use 4 different people, each having a completely different style using the device. TitanKing for example rests most of his hand’s weight on the mouse while I prefer to have the majority weight resting on my palm while I mainly use my fingers to perform the movement. He also enjoys lighter mice while I prefer heavier mice.
The mice we are reviewing all aims for the high end gaming market. All of them are extremely stylish and modern. Although perhaps lesser known by the South African consumers, they are all build to compete against manufacturers such as Logitech, Razer, Microsoft. In this review we shall find out just how good they really are.
On a final note before we start off, high end gaming mice only have a limited number of traits with which to compete against others, these usually are things such as grip, weight, DPI resolution, quality and looks. Extra things are usually gimmicks and a gamer with excellent hand and eye coordination and reflexes can still do a lot better in a game with a cheap R90 mouse than what newby gamer can do with a R2000 mouse. Nevertheless, I bet both kinds of players can only benefit from a high quality mouse such as these.

Roccat Kone (R 900):
Specs: 3200DPI, 20G Acceleration, USB Gold, 10 Buttons, 4 Way Wheel, Adjustable, Weights, Macros
This mouse is throughout the web noted to be one of the best mice ever made. It has all the feature one would expect from a high end mouse. It is very comfortable and just works well for both gaming and work. When you reach the ultimate in mouse design and you don’t know what else to add, you could always add a full spectrum LED stripe display on each side of the mouse to give it that final edge., however it can look a little kitsch and gimmicky. It has fancy features such as recording how your mouse pad reflects the laser, all these contribute to an excellent mouse and a perfect Christmas gift for yourself. As with the other mice we reviewed here this mouse is extremely hard to write anything negative about.
Good:- Exceptionally Precise and Smooth
- Very comfortable
- Excellent Quality Feel
- Well positioned sliding pads
- Mouse Pad Service Detection
- 3 Buttons on Wheel
- Awesome Grip
- Works great with large hands

CM Storm - Sentinel Advance (R 700):
Specs: 5600DPI, 50G Acceleration, 8 Buttons, Adjustable Weights
We could honestly not find anything wrong with the Sentinel Advance. It feels great, looks great, is accurate, has adjustable weight and last but not least, all the buttons except for thumb button nearest to you are in easily reachable positions. One thing that make it stand out from the rest is the small grey digital display on top showing your current resolution, perhaps just a gimmick but nice to show off with. Just like most other Cooler Master’s products this mouse oozes quality and style. Perhaps one last thing worth mentioning is that you will notice in the photos that it’s got a small grid on the very top of the mouse. We are not sure if this grid can be removed but we thought that once it starts picking up dust (which it inevitably will) you will find it difficult to clean.
Good:- Excellent gameplay
- Great comfort
- Stylish
- Adjustable weights
- Specs says it all

Bad:- Grid top might be difficult to clean once it picks up dust.
- Mouse wheel doesn't act as a button as well.

ROCCAT Kova (R 650):
Specs: 3200DPI, 20G Acceleration, 5 Buttons, Right/Left Hand
The cheapest mouse of the 4 is not exactly cheap, coming in at around R650 (Retail Price) and we thought it felt a bit “plasticy” as well as on the narrow side. It still looks good but definitely does not match the rest of the mice we reviewed here in that particular regard. That being said, there is nothing wrong with the accuracy of the mouse and any true gamer would not be able to give it a poor judgement based on that. There is another advantage this mouse have got above all the others and that is that it is perfectly suitable for both left handed and right handed people. Unfortunately there are no adjustable weights for the mouse. Overall we feel that this mouse is still a great mouse but perhaps just a tad too expensive considering that a gamer who can afford a mouse within the R600 plus range would simply spend a little more for one of the others listed here.
Good:- Support both left and right hands
- Simplicity

Bad:- Expensive for a simple mouse
- Plastic feel

Nova Slider X 600 (R 1050):
Specs: 3200DPI, 20G Acceleration, USB Gold, 8 Buttons, Macros
This high quality mouse is indeed something to write home about, we simply love it. Perhaps the most stylish of the bunch and with the most comfortable grip it is set to score high in our review. However, we do feel that if you have large hands you should stay away as the grip is definitely designed for people with medium to small hands. If this was available in one larger size, this would be the perfect mouse. While having no adjustable weights we both agreed that it had a good average weight and thus couldn’t really complain about the weight. The engineers decided to build the mouse out to the right supporting your hand right up to the pinkie. They have also decided to lead the wire out from the side of the mouse instead of the top, this works really well! This mouse is truly awesome if the shoe fits. As one would expect it is extremely accurate and smooth as well.
Good:- Exceptionally Precise
- Very comfortable
- Excellent Quality Feel
- Mouspad Cord Clip
- Ultra Cool Packaging
*If you find a retailer for this Mouse, let us know, Prophecy decided not to import these for now.
Bad:- Price
- Moving difficulty
- Sticks when weight is applied
