Default PCBG 2006 LAN Weekend Discussion

well i was chatting to Zerocoil last night over a couple of drinks and a hubbly.. and what we were thinking is that for PCBG's bday we should all get together for a wend somewhere and have a phat lan.

    1) when is the bday?
    2) how old is pcbg?

i mean if we get something solid in the pipes i RX can organise some sponsers and we can go all out! should be a blast... even if its in JHB or the karoo...if we plan it far enough in advance i see no prob bus-ing up to JHB or even flying...

what u guys think about the idea?

We could have 2 one in Joberg and one in CT and run a VERY VERY long network cable between the 2. ;-)

The moderators have been chatting about just such a LAN and agreed that it would be utterly delightful.
The biggest concern was that it would be tricky for members from the 'Old Country' to attend, so the plots evolved around a LAN for the CoatHangers (Gautengers) to be held at my pad. If the Capetonians and Durbanites could make it as well then - WOW !!!

I think the time has come to get seriaaaas about a PcBg LAN, so let's try to keep this thread alive. PcBg's 1st birthday (was) in August (and as much as I tried, I could not get our esteemed administrator to hang even a single balloon on the front page ... hehehehe)
Perhaps we shoudn't wait until next August either - I'm growing older even as I write this post ...

1 x Cowtanger (Pta-based) ready and willing for gaming goodness. A few weeks' advance notice would be grand too.

Yea, any time from 15 Dec for me to, I know Rockspider has a hell of a large home, we could if its ok with him, which I know would be, cause his girl said its ok, if we hold it there. If not we could ask around for a factory...

Yea guys this would be brilliant !
