I really tested and trialed it.

Black Ice - is much stronger than Zone Alarm, although Zone alarm does the job and is much more affordable, but check out Black Ice just for interest sake.

It sometimes feels like I've had hassles at some time or another with just about every software package I've installed on my machines. :sad:

I used Zone Alarm for ages and thought it was just dandy.

Now comes the 'However' ....

A while ago I had some mates over for an all night LAN and things were rocking. Then I hosted a server for Rally Masters and all hell broke loose.
My machine locked up totally (nasty thing to happen with your buddies there to rag you).

Love, money and swearing (plus a certain amount of expertise) could not get my machine back to normal.

I had switched off Zone Alarm on my Win 98 rig, but it had kept a certain DLL going in memory - and as some of you have probably found, by poking and prodding enough, you eventually break your computer.

What fun it was re-installing the op system from scratch at 2 in the morning while my mates were having the time of their lives.
Be that as it may, I still reckon that Zone Alarm is a great product - I just have a lazy guardian angel.
