    Default New Firewall discovered!

Ooh, came across this firewall... Comodo Personal Firewall... I uninstalled Kerio, and this new firewall is totally free... I'm loving it... It's easy to use and all of that... Well, some-one has to try out new things, there cant only be Kerio and Zone Alarm. This FW is really looking good. Here is a Anti Virus version of it, but I think I'll stick with AVG. I dont really like testing new AV's.. But, If one of you guys want to test it, feel free, and give us feedback!

It sure looks snazzy. Think I will give it a spin.
    Thanks, Zizzy.

If you want to install this AV, you must uninstall all your other AV's that you have. If you want to install this FW, you must uninstall all your other Firewall's... (I'm talking about COMODO Personal Firewall). So, I have been running this FireWall for 23 hours now, and I must say, it really works well for me... And Rock, have you tried it yet!?

    Here is my rating:

    COMODO Personal Firewall: 9/10
    Kerio Personal Firewall: 8.5/10
    ZoneAlarm: Not tested yet.

I've been using Norton's Antivirus for quite some time.
It's a bit resource intensive but the 2006 release has spyware & firewall all in one! No need for other utilities!

hey Tirion... welcome 2 the forums man (or if u've been here 4 a while and i missed u... soz)

Well yes the ONLY (and i repeat for those in the back) ONLY reason that 2006 is usefull is the fact that it has the av/spuware/fw in one... but then again u could use adaware(free version) and run when u need and then do sep fw and av to free up those resoources.

If you want a crack @ NOD32 i can give u a 30day trial key and u can see how powerfull it is. (and uses next 2 no system resources.)

    PM me.

There was a time when Norton was the alpha and omega of system security. Times change however and as far as I am concerned, it's only good marketing that has kept Norton in the public eye.

Technically, it is an overburdened, draconian and outdated solution - AVG, AVAST, NOD32 and a plethora of free Anti-spyware products seem to be better solutions.

But hey - Norton is still far better than using nothing at all !

lol! but yeah i agree with u rock.. if ur pc is used just for emailing and u got a copy of Nortan with ur PC/Mobo ... yes .. use it... but since Nortan usually costs around R300 (1year licence) and NOD32 (for example) costs R299 for the initial 1st year and R199 every year after that.... if u are going 2 buy a AV... DONT buy nortan...

lol... for those of you who like stand up comedy and have seen a mate of mine and Defcon1's "Paul Snotgrass" (dont laugh) he has this set about nicoretts which is flucking funny...and i could go on about Nortan... but i will not.

Norton is REALLY irritating in the sense that it struggles to remove virusses.

My Norton has never been able to delete a file with a virus. If I wanted the

virus off my PC, I had to disable Norton and delete it manually...

With Avast, it's as simple as clicking OK and the virus is completely gone.

I'll definitely stick with Avast, but I think I'm going to move on to a more

powerful firewall than ZoneAlarm. ZoneAlarm has given me great service, but

it's lacking in certain areas (eg. : Blocking damn near everything on the network)...
    Intel Pentium 1 - 100MHz OC'd to 180MHz
    40MB D-RAM OC'd to 71MHz
    1.2GB IDE Compressed to 1.4GB
    8MB SiS Graphics @ 66MHz
    Creative Sound Blaster 16 2.0
    14" ViewSonic Monitor
Microsoft PS2 Keyboard + Ball Mouse
    Creative 100Watt Stereo Speakers
    8x Creative CD-ROM
    1.44MB Stiffy Drive
    200Watt PSU

    3D Mark Result : 3...

    INCREDIBLE!

Yeah, that is one of the most irratating thing that a firewall can do... This COMODO Personal Firewall is really looking good... Not blocking my LAN, (MSHOME). And ppl can join my games without disableling my FW... Well, glad I tried something new!
