    Default MavHawk,....Living the Dream.

    Hi,.........(Introducing my rig).

This is my first thread on the forum, so i thought i'd experiment its features by posting some pictures and sharing my computer spec's with the forum.

My rig is lovingly called "Concordia", which i sourced from the classic Wing Commander series of games, ....it was the battleship TCS Concordia that made it's final stand against the evil Kilrathi's at their home planet. The ingame cinematics featured stars like Mark Hamil and Malcolm McDowell.

All the components for Concordia was sourced during December 2008, and in some cases i paid a premium, but i wasn't perturbed, as it was the holidays and i needed a good Lan gaming machine for this year. It was tough, but i tried keeping within a set budget. The reason why i called the title "Building a dream", is because it took me a really long time to save up for it and prior to this rig, used the company issued laptop to play games. This was very frustrating, as the laptop spec's were very low and limited to playing those beautifully rendered gaming titles.

Well,....here she is, i've attached pictures of components and info from the 3DMark06 results, that i ran at the time. Concordia may not be have the highest spec's, however she's build perfectly to caters for all my gaming needs.

    HAPPY GAMING !!!

Hmmm that avatar looks so familiar. a Member had that avatar for long or a member that isn't active anymore still has it.. Anyhow, welcome to the forum FunkyMunky. I hope that you will enjoy your stay here and that you feel welcomed here.

You have a nice rig there and an good first thread. I recommend you have a look through most of the members personal threads to get to know us better around here. I think it would be a good idea.

One of the best moments of my personal exp with pc building came from seeing Mavhawk build his machine and the pride, time and care that went into it.

Awesome build. On intial test the 9800GTX+ beat a GTX260 in 3D mark 06 making that card a excellent value for money purchase.
