This is AWESOME FREAKEN news! The Kick Starter page for the spiritual successor have been announced! Their aim is for $900 000 but with only half of the first day gone, they are sitting at over $500 000!

I am so excited but at the same time so frustrated....expected release is only end 2014....

Go support them if you thought PlaneScape Torment was just pure perfection!

I am extremely excited about Torment, so much so that I am seriously considering pledging for the first time.

Check the growth out! Man, the original just had that something special that made me remember it like it was yesterday!

Right, so I've help fund with $45, my first ever kickstarter help. This is what I'll get, including wasteland 2. Would honestly have given $10000 if had that kind of money.

Have I mentioned that I am somewhat excited about the game?????

On the basis of this thread I downloaded the original.  Found it a bit tricky to get in to.  Do you think gaming has just moved on or would you happily play it again now?

I think the major thing....things about the game was the story and atmosphere, I WANTED to explore the game and see what happened next. Characters are very interesting, Fall From Grace.....I think I met her in a Brothel of Intellectual Lusts where they just told stories, I listened to each and every story. But besides that, almost all characters had something very unique, from morte the floating skull, Ignus that permanently on fire, Vhailor a walking suit of armour, etc.

I know, lots of other games have great and unique characters and I know this wont be the exact same game but still, it had something I liked very much and cant wait for it.

Its hard to say whether I'd play PS:T now at this time, I bought it at CNA for R50 I think on a green dot sale yaaaaay back. Was on holiday and spend most of the holiday playing it.

This looks so kewl, "You are a backer."

Just to try and get more of you onboard, the Wasteland 2 advert, looks pretty kewl, the original was created as a result of Fallout.

Wasteland (though both Fountain of Dreams and the original Fallout were considered spiritual successors). The game was successfully crowd funded through Kickstarter, part of a trend of high-profile developers launching projects on the site. It is currently expected to be released in late 2013.

They have passed $3.75m! Less than a day to go.

Sadly, as I suspected with the added depth to the game, release date has slipped to early 2015...
